We are blessed to have so many young people at Lisbon Wesleyan Church!
We also have youth leaders who enjoy investing their time into their lives.
We believe it is important to provide opportunities for teenagers to have a safe place to have fun and get to know God better. LWC has two youth groups and youth services. We also have youth events for either one or both youth groups throughout the year. Events include bowling, hiking, concerts, bonfires, mystery dinners, etc., as well as fundraisers for different camps and overnight trips.
The Junior Youth Group (4th-6th Graders) meets every Thursday from 5:45-6:45 in the Fellowship Hall at the church. We usually play a couple of games as a group such as 9Square, Gaga Ball, SPUD, Knock Out, scavenger hunts, Never Have I Ever, etc. We spend a few minutes each week learning a Bible lesson geared toward their age group, and usually have a snack. Pastor Tyler and Karen MiGill lead this group each week, and the kids have a great time.
The Senior Youth Group (7th-12th Graders) meets every Thursday from 7:00-8:00 in the Fellowship Hall at the church. We generally play a couple group games such as 9Square, Gaga Ball, SPUD, Knock Out, scavenger hunts, Never Have I Ever, etc. Each week we have a Bible lesson geared toward their age group and life problems/questions. We seek to make each lesson applicable to them, and something they would like to know more about. Along with the lesson and the games we play we also have a snack most weeks. Pastor Tyler, Ron Jacobs, and Anna Bender regularly lead the group and provide the lessons based on the Bible, past experiences, and questions and topics often provided by the teens.
We have a Youth Service twice each weekend along with our three main weekend celebration services Saturday nights and Sunday mornings. Youth services are Saturday nights at 6:00 and Sunday Mornings at 11:00. The youth services are for teens, 5th grade and up. They start with the adults in the main services, but after the music and prayer time they go with Pastor Tyler and his wife, Gwen, to the Fellowship Hall. There, Pastor Tyler gives a message for their age group and we will often break into groups for group discussions. There are also occasional demonstrations that the teens can participate in, and once in a while a game or activity.
If you have any questions about these groups or activities, feel free to contact our Children and Youth Pastor, Tyler Hardy.
